Cherry Pie
2 pounds sour cherries, pitted
1 1/8 c. white sugar
3 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp butter
1/4 tsp almond extract
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a saucepan, combine cherries, sugar and cornstarch. Let sit for about 10 minutes. Bring to a boil over medium heat. stirring constantly. Lower hear and simmer for 5 minutes or until the juices thicken and become translucent. Remove from hear and stir in the butter and almond extract. Mix thoroughly and our into pie shell. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
2. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
** I have not mastered a crust yet, but Pillsbury sure does make a YUMMY crust ;o) I brush the top of my crust with milk and sprinkle with white sugar before baking. I like homemade whipped cream with this pie as well.**

Heavy whipping cream
powdered sugar
1. whisk heavy whipping cream on high until peaks form. Add powdered sugar to liking. If you want a chocolate whipped cream, add chocolate syrup to your liking and whip till peaks form. Keep refrigerated and enjoy!!!!
